Oosterend is a very small village on the island of Terschelling, located in the North Sea in the Netherlands. At this place, around new year's eve in 2005, the idea for this piece of music was born on a guitar: a descending minor-pentatonic scale of 14 eights. I was curious what kind of music I was able to build based on this melody. For me, beeing creative happens not while thinking but while playing or working, so I put the melody in a sequencer program and started to play or work. I used "cubasis" on the first and "logic" on the second session.
